Arriving and Settling

What is it like to settle in Toronto? How do new residents seek support, find employment and build community?

Isolation. Finding work in your field. Securing Canadian citizenship. Building a new life in Toronto presents so many challenges, and usually all at once. These are stories of tight-knit immigrant neighbourhoods, diasporic cultural spaces and personal responses to immigration. They’re also stories of how residents have drawn on their own lived newcomer experiences to help others get settled here.
